Royal Atlantis Hotel in Dubai, Built by Ssangyong E&C, Holds Grand Reveal

2023-01-26

A super-luxury hotel has finally revealed its imposing presence as a new landmark in Dubai, UAE.

Ssangyong E&C announced that the Royal Atlantis Resort and Residences, which is set to be completed and launch its grand opening in early February, held a grand reveal event for three days from January 20 to 22 to showcase the hotel resort to invite-only VIP guests before its grand opening.

This event received a great deal of attention as it featured Beyoncé’s first in-person concert since 2018. On top of this, outdoor fireworks and DJ sets added more vibrancy to the glitzy ceremony.

Chairman Kim Woong-ki of the Global Sae-A Group, as well as Chairman S. Joon Kim and CEO Kim Ki-myung of Ssangyong E&C, attended the grand reveal as invited VIP guests and experienced the hotel’s amenities. In particular, during the event, these company officials also held executive meetings with Ssangyong E&C shareholders and clients, including Deputy CEO of the Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD), Chairman of ICD Brookfield, Director of the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra), and CEO of the Wasl Group.

Royal Atlantis Resort and Residences sits on Palm Jumeirah, an artificial island in Dubai, UAE. It consisted of a mega project involving the construction of three ultra-luxury hotel buildings (with the tallest being 44 stories tall) offering 795 rooms and three uber-luxury residence buildings offering 231 units. The hotel features a myriad of opulent facilities, such as 109 swimming pools and aquariums.

The project was commissioned in December 2015 by ICD, a world-renowned sovereign wealth fund and the largest (currently the second-largest) shareholder of Ssangyong E&C at the time. As a lead contractor, the company won this USD 1.254 billion contract together with its Belgium-based partner, Besix.
