Ssangyong won Korea Architectural and Cultural Award for six consecutive years

Ssangyong has proudly proved its excellent construction capability by winning the Korea Architectural and Cultural Award for six consecutive years.

The International Education Center of Kookmin University, built by Ssangyong, was awarded the honor prize of the Korea Architectural and Cultural Award 1999 under the joint auspices of Seoul Economic Daily, the Ministry of Construction and Transportation and Korea Institute of Registered Architects. Seoul Headquarters Building of the Korea Tabacco & Ginseng Corp. and Mok-dong Corporate Building of Seoul Mobile Telecom also become prize-winning projects by Ssangyong.

The Award, entering its 8th anniversary this year, is the most prestigious prize given to excellent architectural structures, well harmonizing with environment and humanity for the year. For this year, 25 prize-winning projects were selected without the grand prix.

The International Education Center of Kookmin University, the honor prize - winning project, is a complex of auditoriums, professors’ laboratories, lecture rooms, training facilities and student welfare facilities. The construction of this five-story building with two-story basement was started in 1996 and completed in Oct. 1999. Total floor area is 18,381 m2 at 163,638m2 site,

Seoul Headquarters’ Building of the Korea Tabacco and Ginseng Corp., is a computer-controlled intelligent building, located in Kangnam, Seoul at 9,549m2 site area,is a twenty-story building with a six-story basement. The total floor area is 71,377m2 . Previously, the building also won the gold prize of Seoul City’s Architectural Award under “Nightview” category.

Mok-dong Corporate Building of Seoul Mobile Telecom, another intelligent building, is an eighteen-story building with a six-story basement, 34,597m2 total floor area at 3,091m2 site area. The building was completed in last February.
