In Singapore Ssangyong became a winner of BCA’s Construction

Ssangyong won BCA Award for construction excellence 1999 by the Building & Construction Authority (BCA) of Singapore for its excellent achievements in two categories i.e. the Peirce Villas Project in the ‘Private Housing’ category and the Capital Tower Project in the ‘Commercial Building’ category.

BCA makes an integrated evaluation on the architectural structures completed every year in the areas of quality, construction capability and technology, and grants the award to the best companies over six categories. The awarding ceremony for this year was held on May 15 in Singapore.

With the awards this time, Ssangyong have been granted the award seven times collectively from BCA, marking also a record of three consecutive years’ winning for 1997, 1998 and 1999. It proves again Ssangyong’s quality construction and expertise specially in hotels, hospitals, highrised offices, luxurious housings and ultra-modern buildings with Intelligent Building System (IBS).

Peirce Villas, completed in 1998, has drawn a public attention in Singapore as one of the most luxurious and gorgeous villas with private swimming pool and parking lots. The thirty villas of 2 - 3 stories were designed and built indepen-dently to meet up with varied tastes of the villa owners.

Capital Square located in China Town, the commercial hub of Singapore, consists of a sixteen-story office tower, a seven-story parking building and rehabilitation of a shopping mall of nineteen shops. In July of last year, the Project won the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) Award 1999, which was given to the best rehabilitation project for the year.
