Ssangyong E&C has confirmed that they received the highest 'Gold award' in 'The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents Health & Safety Award'. It has achieved outstanding Health & Safety record at the construction site of the Singapore Downtown Line TEL Site 308. From last January, when the construction started, until this July, the site has achieved 1 Million Man-hours without any accidents.
The RoSPA(Royal Society for Prevention of Accidents) Award is a prestigious Health & Safety award. After an evaluation process of ed industrial sites worldwide, the award is presented to the companies with excellent health & safety records. It&rsquos the 5th year that SsangYong E&C has won this most prestigious award in a row, with Singapore Marina Coastal Expressway in 2014 and Singapore Downtown Line Stage 2 Site 921 in 2015. Including the Silver Awards, the company has continuously won the award for a decade. Since 2008, the company has won 21 awards in total. Site 308 also won the SHARP (Safety and Health Award Recognition for Projects) award by the Singapore Ministry of Labor Health and Safety Committee.
SsangYong E&C had achieved 16.75 million accident-free man-hours in the Singapore Downtown Line Stage 2 Site 921, completed in 2015, setting the world record for the subway construction projects. Following the 2013 Singapore's Annual Safety Awards, the company also won the LTEA awards, Singapore's the most coveted award in the field. Based on those accolades, on last January, Ssangyong E&C received approximately 30.5 Billion KRW for Downtown Line TEL Site 308. Even though the company didn't submit the lowest price, it still won high points on other areas. A company source stated, "We are re-writing the world safety history through 61 million accident-free man-hours in Singapore alone, and approximately 120 million worldwide. We will keep our position as a leading international construction business through not only the superior skills but also with superb safety management capabilities," the source said.
