On May 17, Ssangyong E&C received a plaque of appreciation from the International Contractors Association of Korea for net amount of US $ 200 billion in Korea’s overseas construction. The plaque was accepted by Mr. Kim Seung-joon, the head of International Investment Division, on behalf of the Company, from Construction Minister Choo Byung-jik at a ceremony held at the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The plaques of appreciation were given to ten contractors whose net amount of overseas construction were over US $ 50 billion from 1965 to Feb. 2006.

In terms of overseas construction orders won, Ssangyong E&C ranks eighth among domestic contractors with US $5.24 billion (=KRW 5 trillion) from a total of 119 orders in seventeen countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, India and the UAE.

Even though recently most orders are focused on industrial plants, Ssangyong differentiates itself from them with its world-class competitiveness and technological prowess in architecture and civil engineering.

This year, Ssangyong won orders for the North-South Corridor Highway (four packages) in India and Ocean Front Condominiums, a high-end apartment, in Singapore.
