In October 1996, Ssangyong E&C received the order to construct Selayang Hospital in Malaysia together with Obayashi Corp, Japan.
As Ssangyong E&C, which was in charge of the main hospital building construction, had to build the ward with 964 beds and treatment facilities within a short construction period, it introduced the fast-track method, where design and construction are conducted simultaneously.
Also, it could finish construction within schedule, as the building was designed to be built through assembled components: The PC (pre concrete) slabs, that were perforated to reduce weight, were employed on the top of the pre-installed pillars and beams.
