Ssangyong E&C Selected for Hamyang–Changnyeong Section 11 Project with Excellent Technical Proposal

The Ssangyong E&C Consortium won the Hamyang-Changnyeong Expressway Section 11 Project, surpassing Nam Kwang Engineering in the evaluation of technical proposals.
In the announcement made on April 10, the Korea Expressway Corporation (KEC) released the results of the technical proposal evaluation conducted between April 9 and 10 at the KEC HR Development Center.
For this KRW 220 billion expressway project, Ssangyong E&C will construct a 6.44-kilometer long section that extends from Burim-myeon, Uiryeong County to Namji-eup, Changnyeong County, South Gyeongsang Province including six tunnels (3.5 km) and seven bridges (1.6 km) in seven years.
The evaluation was carried out with a particular emphasis on the technical proposal for the Uiryong-Nakdong Bridge that crosses over the Nakdong River. Under the leadership of Senior Manager Jaeseung Lim of Ssangyong E&C, the consortium offered a combination of necessary technical expertise for the project such as in structure (EVP Yongwoo Lee, Soosung Engineering & Consulting), road (EVP Hoyoung Lee, Sambo Engineering), tunnels (EVP Jongho Lee, Danwoo Research & Engineering) and soil engineering (EVP Gwansik Jeong, Dongsung Engineering) to present a winning proposal.
On April 11 and 12, the KEC will continue with the technical evaluation for Hamyang-Changnyeong Expressway Section 9 whose bid invitation was announced concurrently with the Section 11 project.
