Ssangyong E&C’s Sites Win Two SHARP Awards in Singapore

2019-08-01

On July 31, Ssangyong E&C announced that the company’s two project sites (Thomson-East Coast Line T308 and Forest Woods Condominium) concurrently won the Safety & Health Award Recognition for Projects (SHARP) 2019 in Singapore. Organized by the Workplace Safety and Health (HSH) Council under the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), SHARP Awards are granted annually to contractors that maintain, at their project sites in Singapore, the standards of workplace health and safety required by the MOM. The winners are awarded extra points when bidding for government contracts. With these awards, Ssangyong E&C has pulled off the impressive feat of being awarded SHARP Awards 22 times over the past ten years.

The T308 contract was ordered by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) and is worth USD 252 million. The Forest Woods Condominium contract was ordered by the City Developments Limited (CDL), the largest private developer in Singapore. Worth USD 82 million, the contract involves the construction of a 519-unit, seven-building condominium complex.

Ssangyong E&C says that the company’s mandatory safety management training programs for on-site workers have allowed its project sites to maintain accident-free records from day one.
