Ssangyong E&C Included in 72 Korean Companies to Accompany President Moon Jae-in on His State Visit to Singapore as Korean Business Delegation

The Korean business delegation to host the Korea-Singapore Business Forum led by President Moon Jae-in on July 12, 2018

Ssangyong E&C Chairman & CEO S. Joon Kim will accompany President Moon Jae-in on his state visit to Singapore (July 11 to 13, 2018) as part of the Korean business delegation comprising 130 CEOs from 72 Korean businesses of varying sizes.

 

On July 9, 2018, the Korea International Trade Association (Chairman Young Ju Kim) announced the list of Korean companies and business leaders to accompany President Moon Jae-in on his state visit to Singapore, which is scheduled to immediately follow the president’s state visit to India. The delegation is led by Chairman Young Ju Kim of the Korea International Trade Association and includes CEOs from Korea’s top ten conglomerates such as Vice Chairman Boo Keun Yoon of Samsung Electronics, President Jin Haeng Chung of Hyundai Motor Company, Co-Vice Chairman Hyun-Hwoi of LG Corp., Vice Chairman Taek Geun Jeong of GS Holdings and Chairman & CEO Jin Ryu of Poongsan Corporation.

 

Chairman & CEO S. Joon Kim of Ssangyong E&C, a Korean construction company highly recognized in Singapore for its construction of the Marina Bay Sands, represents Korea’s construction industry in the delegation, along with Chairwoman Jeong Eun Hyun of Hyundai Group and Chairman Oh Hyun Woo of SM Group. The delegation represents a wide range of industries with business leaders such as CEO Yong In Huh of SPC Group, Representative Director Seok Song Oh of Meta Biomed and CEO Hye Rin Park of Omni System. Startups and SMEs with global competitiveness were also represented in the business delegation.

 

Participating businesses are expected to produce tangible results during their visit to Singapore, i.e. securing investment commitments and exclusive distribution contracts. As part of its effort, the delegation will host the Korea-Singapore Business Summit on the 12th at the Shangri la Hotel to discuss economic cooperation with local business leaders.

 

The business delegation also includes leaders from public organizations and business associations such as Chairman of Sung Taek Park of the Korea Federation of SMEs, Chairman Gi Poong Park of the International Contractors Association of Korea, CEO & President Pyung Oh Kwon of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, Chairman & President Sung Soo Eun of the Export-Import Bank of Korea, and CEO Hee Nam Choi of the Korea Investment Corporation, who will discuss various ways to expand economic cooperation with their local counterparts.
